It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matris Earl Irvin Wade (Roxboro, North Carolina), who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glennie Irvin and Edna Bradsher Irvin; her husband Melvin W. Wade; her sons, James Wade and Vincent Wade; and her siblings, Otis Irvin, Freddie Irvin, Jewel Irvin and Ivory Irvin.
She is survived by: her sons, Melvin Wade (Andre) and Troy Wade; and her niece Wanda Toadvine of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cunningham & Associates Funeral Services (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church (2045 Cunningham Rd, Semora, NC 27343). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
