She was predeceased by: her mother Annie Elliott McFarland; her husband George Willie McDowell; and her siblings, Sophia McFarland Bowes and Richard Calvin McFarland. She is survived by: her daughters, Linda McDowell Williams (Sammie), Barbara McDowell Pleasant (Dan) and Janet McDowell Lewis; her grandchildren, Brent Thomas Pentecost (Sue Ann), Dan Miller Pleasant, Jr. (Beth), Heather Lewis Wrenn (Matt), Anna Pleasant Grossnickle (Andrew) and Crystal Lewis Boger (Andy); and her great grandchildren, Jacob, James Pentecost, Dan Miller Pleasant III, Elizabeth Grossnickle, Emily, Lindsay, Lily Wrenn, Avery and Adylyn Boger.
