He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodolfo Edwin Vilaro and Audrey Galpin; his wife Teresa Irene Vilaro; his parents-in-law, Donald Edward Pennebaker and Eleanor Pennebaker; and his brother-in-law Eric John Pennebaker.

He is survived by: his sons, Matthew Scott Vilaro and Brian Michael Vilaro; his grandson Matthew Shaw; his stepmother Annette LaMaire; his siblings-in-law, Ursula P. Long (Daniel R. Long, Jr.), Amy P. Cannady (Stephen Cannady) and David Pennebaker; his cousins, Darlene Strong and Jon Porter; his nephew Daniel R. Long III (Tiffany Long); his nieces, Claire Long, Anna Long, Isabel Long, Maria Pennebaker and Shannon Smith (Jonathan Smith); his great-nephews, Landon Smith, Jacob Smith, Connor Smith, Mason Smith and Eric Smith; and his great-niece Eleanor Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "LONG LAW OFFICES TRUST ACCOUNT" for the benefit of Matt Shaw, a minor child.
