He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Thomas and Mary Sue Walker Gentry; and his sister Warsenia Gentry McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Doris Hicks Gentry; his siblings, Wiley Gentry (Betty) and Debra Gentry Garrett; and his siblings-in-law, C. T. Hicks (Carolyn), Charles Hicks (Barbara) and Julia Hicks Poole.
