He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Johnson Gentry and Mabel Mangum Gentry; his son Christopher "Bud" Gentry; his brother Malcolm "Mickey" Gentry; his nieces, Stacy Gentry Howard and Tonya "Sug" Gentry Hood; and his nephew C. W. "Lil Charlie" Chambers III.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Woody Gentry of Roxboro; his daughter Morgan Leigh Gentry; his daughter-in-law Heather Hewett Gentry; his grandsons, Caiden and Odin Gentry; his sisters, Carolyn Gentry Chambers, Marilyn Gentry Tuck and Margie LaVerne Gentry; his siblings-in-law, Laurie Westbrooks Gentry and Mark H. Woody; and his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Nicole Gentry, Robin Gentry Knott (Trent), Scott Gentry (Wendy), Wendy Chambers, Dawn Chambers, Mandy Tuck Barringer (Russ) and Pete Tuck (Susan).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Brooks & White Chapel (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
