He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Julian Brooks, Sr. and Garnette Powell Brooks; his wife India Russell Brooks; and his sister Joyce Brooks Wade. He is survived by: his children, Robert J. Brooks III of Wilmington, NC, Timothy L. Brooks (Lisa) of Timberlake, NC and Tabitha E. Brooks (Bobby Williams) of Sneads Ferry, NC.; his grandsons, Travis Brooks (Ryan), Hunter Brooks (Miranda Davis) and Jarrett Brooks (Elissa); his great grandchildren, Cameron and Olivia Brooks; his sisters, Yvonne Crabtree and Ann Wade; his brother-in-law Mitchell Russell; his aunt Ramona Russell Woodson; and his uncle Bubba.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Home of Timothy & Lisa Brooks (1650 Chambers Loop Rd, Timberlake, NC 27583). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Hill Baptist Church (201 Old US 501 Hwy, Roxboro, NC 27574).
