She is survived by: her parents, Billy Richard Wilson [Carol] of Myrtle Beach, SC and JoAnn Cox Summey [Jim] of Leland, NC.; her children, Ashley Margaret Escude [Carl] of Haughton, LA, Jessica Nicole Beaver [Daniel] and Hunter James Keene [Angel] of Timberlake, NC; her sisters, Kimberly Whitman [Duane] of Durham, NC and Shana Broders of Wake Forest, NC; her grandmother Austine Ensley of Kings Mountain, NC; and her grandchildren, Corbin Assimos, Greyson Escude, Elijah Escude, Aubrie Keene, Amelia Keene and Hank Keene. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In 2020, after nearly 15 years of living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, she contracted COVID19 in September 2020, and by mid-October, she was intubated in the Duke MICU where she remained on a ventilator for more than 100 days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Rheumatology Research Foundation or St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wilmington, NC.
