She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Herman and Mary Elizabeth Farrell Rippy; her brother Billy Rippy; and her sister-in-law Barbara Rippy. She is survived by: her husband Roy Phil Bailey; her friend Denton; her daughters, Robin Bailey Landers (Terry), Kimberly Bailey Sugg (Lynn) and Laura Bailey Brogan (Tom); her grandchildren, Jessica Landers, Jamie Landers (Emily), Meredith Cader (Ian), Bailey Sugg (Shelby) and Brady Brogan; her great grandchildren, Walker, Maggie Cader and Shirley; her siblings, Daniel Lloyd Rippy and Sandra Rippy Efland; and her sister-in-law Ruby Rippy.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services (1810 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations in Shirley's memory may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US Hwy. 1, Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525 honoring the compassionate care she valued so greatly.
