With sadness, we share the passing of Shirley Bowes of Roxboro, North Carolina. Shirley, born on October 22, 1935, passed away on July 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Oakley Clayton and Albert Barton Clayton; her husband Jesse C. Bowes, Sr.; and her siblings, Ivory Clayton, Calvin Clayton (Mildred), Reams Clayton (Pauline), James Clayton (Thelma), Elbert "Bo" Clayton (Dorothy), Edward "Ebbie" Clayton (Irene), Wallace Clayton (Annie Mae), Allie Ree Clayton (Giles), Geraldine Solomon (Fred) and Viola Clayton (Floyd).
She is survived by: her brother Wayne Clayton (Elaine); her children, Terri B. Palmer (Ricky), Jesse "Connie" Bowes, Jr. (Maria), Jeff T. Bowes (Melinda) and Lori B. Carroll (Jon); her grandchildren, Russell Palmer (Nicole), Elizabeth Gentry (Robbie), Preston Bowes (Melodee), Cameron Bowes, Tyler Bowes (Courtney), Sierra Harris (TJ), Jonathon Caddell (Rachel), Heather Litchfield (Mark), Spencer Carroll and Meghan Peppard (Adam); and her great grandchildren, Lorene Gentry, Bristol Teague, Jackson Caddell, Colton Caddell, Grace Gentry, Isla Palmer, Aiden Harris, Willa Litchfield and Diana Bowes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and one special nephew.
