He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Richard Pearse and Harriet Pearse of Durham, NC.; and his brother Robert Pearse of Greensboro, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Joyce Pearse; his children, Elizabeth Davenport (Chad) of Alexandria, VA., Mary Hallam Pearse of Athens, GA and Phillip Pearse of Wilmington, NC.; his sisters, Rebecca Jones and Cissy Pearse; and his grandchildren, Caroline and Ellie Davenport. He is also survived by his niece and nephew.
