He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Long and Bertha Morris Long; his spouse Kay Wilkerson Long; his daughter Misty Carol Long; his grandson Kalon Gentry; and his siblings, Wayne Long, Ann Long Carr and Brenda Carr.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy L. (Randolph Scott Gentry) and Tommy (Laura Long); his grandchildren, Ashley Gentry Haithcock and Summer Long Kilgore; and his great grandchildren, Kaydance Gentry, Hudson Haithcock and Brantley Haithcock.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Beginnings Baptist Church (1319 Griles St, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
