He is survived by: his sons, Keith Hughes of Roxboro and Trey Hughes of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Mya Hughes and Darrick Hughes; his caregiver Melissa Gittman; his siblings, Elaine Blackwell (David), Ronald Hughes (Janet) of Roxboro, Michael Hughes of Roxboro and Brian Hughes of Hyattsville, MD; and his aunts and uncles, Mable Jones, Rosa Thorpe (Robert), Bera Woods (Tommy), Linda Pettiford (Karl), Shelby Williams (Ernest), Nannie Pulliam, Mamie Poole, Ruth Winstead, Betty Jordan (Frank), Lottie Hughes, Jack Winstead (Linda), Chester Hughes (Laura), Amos Hughes (Michelle) and Jerry Hughes (Gladys). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
