He is survived by: his mother Cassandra Hopson Shaw of Columbus, Ohio; his son Brandon Shaw of Lumberton; his aunts, Mildred Shaw Bradsher of Roxboro, Linda H. Shaw of Roxboro and Fannie Shaw Wade of Hurdle Mills; and his uncle Alvin Shaw of Hurdle Mills. He is also survived by other relatives and dear friends.
Upon approval of his dissertation, Evaluating the Paradigm: Reconstructing the Foundation of Religious Education, he was named a Fellow of the college.
