He is survived by: his wife June Branton of Roxboro; his son Vance; his daughter-in-law Heather Branton of Springfield, SD; his grandchildren, Taylor Cooprider of Omaha, NE, Victoria Branton of Biloxi, MS, Vance Branton II of Irene, SD, Rachel Branton of Lincoln, NE and Olivia Cooprider of Millard, NE; his great grandchild Bexton Cooprider; his sisters, Ann Gaines (Berry Barbour) of Goldston and Dorothy Lynch (Jack) of Goldsboro; and his daughter Catherine Winstead (Marvin) of Roxboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
