He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" Longest Winstead; his children, Wayne Grier Winstead, Jr. (Cara) of Cary, Nancy Riddell (Ewen) of Danville, VA and Jennifer Mann of Greensboro; his siblings, Phillip M. Winstead (Cathy) of Cary and Becky Winstead Brann (Stump) of Roxboro; his grandsons, Paul Buchanan (Heather) and Noah Winstead; and his great grandchild Lillie Buchanan.
