He is survived by: his wife Lynda Garrett Clayton; his son Kevin Merritt Clayton (Janet) of Roxboro; his granddaughter Mackenzie Clayton; and his brothers-in-law, Barry Garrett (Pam) of Roxboro and Lewis Crabtree of Durham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
