He was predeceased by: his parents, William Herbert Bishop and Janie Guyther Lassiter. He is survived by: his daughters, Yvette Williams of Roxobel, NC, Sandra Williams of Youngsville, NC, Amanda Hardy (Anthony) of Braselton, GA, T. Martine Cherry (Marcus) of Greensboro, NC and Genet Freeman (Greg) of Raleigh, NC; and his sisters, Linda Lassiter of Paterson, NJ, Lucy Gatling (Larry) of Rich Square, NC, Dianne Bishop Clark of Fayetteville, NC and Jeanne Norfleet Brinkley (Ralph) of Ahoskie, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren five great grandchildren; bonus grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sandy Branch Missionary Baptist Church (4318 Governors Rd, Roxobel, NC 27872).
