He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Noah Combs and Josie Stoneman Combs; his wife Phyllis Ann Combs; and his siblings, Peggy Burnette, Mary Ruth Lundy, Kyle Combs and Gerald Combs.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Brooks (Kelly) of Liberty, NC and Scott Combs (Emerald) of Concord, NC; his grandchildren, Kristen Lawson (Bruce) of Winston-Salem, Lauren Akins (David) of Fayetteville, Courtney Hickes of Lexington and Alexandria Combs of Tobaccoville; and his sisters, Muriel Burnette (Junior) and Joanne Hale. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rural Hall Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (305 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Miller Rural Hall Chapel (305 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at the Belews Creek Christian Church Cemetery (8451 Belews Creek Rd, Belews Creek, NC 27009).
