He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemley Jones Lunsford and Ola Permelia Stultz Lunsford; his wife Judy Cox Lunsford; his daughter Melissa Lunsford Casey; and his siblings, L. J. Lunsford, Donald Lunsford and Grace Ann Paysuer.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Wright (Kevin) and Tess Robinson; his grandchildren, Billy Robinson, Daniel Lunsford (Krista), Jeffrey Hamilton, Anthony Lunsford, Brandon Casey and Cory Casey (Melissa Wright); and his siblings, Carolyn Shoemaker, Jerry Lunsford (Brenda), Ernest Lunsford and John "Bud" Lunsford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
