He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Herman and Pauline Whitt Wilkins; his wife Karen Ashley Wilkins; his daughter Stacy Laine Ayers; and his sisters, Cathy and Judy.
He is survived by: his son Chad Steven Wilkins of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Alex, Megan Prescott, Silas, Sawyer and Salem Wilkins; and his siblings, Brenda, Mike and David.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel (305 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045).
To honor Mr. Wilkins' love of animals, particularly his dogs and cats, the family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial be made to a local animal shelter or rescue organization.
