He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ernest Shouse and Edna Vaughn Shouse; and his wife Mary Frances Gordy Shouse. He is survived by: his children, Tina Shouse, Tammy Mihu (Ronald) and William "Ernie" Shouse (Kim); his grandchildren, Nicholas Clark (Samantha), Jonathon Mihu (Corinne), Bryan, Jonah, Gabriel and Oliver; his great grandchildren, Madyson and Avery Clark; and his close friend Peggy McMahan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
