He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Barnard Hyder, Sr. and Connie Haney Hyder; his former wife Lotte Hyder; his wife Sue Goodman Hyder; his son Heinrich Donald Hyder; and his siblings, Cecil, Donald, Norman Hyder and Maxine Hyder.

He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret McPherson (Jerry) and Melinda Cox (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Zachary Hyder, Leigh Kennedy, Reid McPherson, Medeus Cox and Cory Cox; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Kennedy, Grayson Kennedy, Aubrey Cox and Kristopher Sowers.
