It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Roby Edwards (Rutherfordton, North Carolina), who passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Edith is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her husband W. Henry Edwards; and her parents, Odorian Roby and Dena Aitcheson Roby. She is survived by: her children, Duncan Edwards (Mary) and Caroline Edwards (Greg Beam); her grandsons, Stuart Beam (Natalie) and Will Beam (Hannah); and her great grandchild Josie Beam.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton (264 N Main St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
