It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garland Gilbert of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 14, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Allen and Bertha Edwards Gilbert; his wife Myrel Reed Gilbert; and his siblings, J. M. Gilbert, Murleen Hall, Molee Marsh and Lillian Hobson.
He is survived by: his brother Wallace Gilbert of Lynchburg, VA; his children, Daniel Gilbert (Gale), Connie Ho (Michael), Carrie Taylor of Rutherfordton and Joy Huckno (Wally) of Myrtle Beach, SC.; his grandchildren, Adrienne Gamble, Devin Taylor, Baxter Taylor, Max Taylor, Mandy Paul, Joseph Bean, Hannah Ho and Miriam Dunivan; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Carson Gamble, Cayden, Ava Taylor, Paisleigh and Colton Dunivan.
