With sadness, we share the passing of Madelyn Smith of Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Madelyn passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Odez Taylor and Vivian Taylor. She is survived by: her husband Grady Smith; her stepson Ernie Smith (Paula); her grandchildren, Michael Smith, Austin Smith, Hanna L. Smith and Eiljah Smith; her stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Cleary (David), Kaleb Pruitt and Kane Pruitt (Brooke); and her basset Betty Lou. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Melvin Hill Covenant Brethren Church (525 Melvin Hill Rd, Columbus, NC 28722). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Melvin Hill Covenant Brethren Church Cemetery (525 Melvin Hill Rd, Columbus, NC 28722).
