He was predeceased by: his parents, JD Kernodle and Sadie Virginia Kernodle; and his granddaughter Laci Nicole Gail Chapman. He is survived by: his wife Susan Kernodle of Rutherfordton; his children, Anne Michelle Kernodle Goodman (Steve) of Thomasville, David Landon Kernodle of Charlotte and Misty Kidwell Chapman (Phillip) of Rutherfordton; his brother Bruce Hardin Kernodle (Kaye) of Ruidoso, NM; and his granddaughters, Katherine Kelly Goodman, Sadie Landon Kernodle and Paisley Elaine Chapman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rutherfordton Fellowship Hall (246 N Main St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Swim Team, 1064 S. Mountain Rd. Bostic, NC 28018.
