He was predeceased by : his parents, Mildred Miller Tanner and Simpson Bobo Tanner II; his siblings, Katherine Pocock, S. Bobo Tanner III and James Townsend Tanner; and his daughter Rosalyn Tanner Orr.
He is survived by : his wife Lynne Santy Tanner; his children, Michael Spencer Tanner and Coleman Tanner; and his grandchildren, D. Frasier Orr III and Michael Spencer Orr.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southmountain Children's Home, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, or Foothills Conservancy of NC.
