She was predeceased by: her parents, William Clay Johnson and Katie May Norville Johnson; and her sisters, Ruth Dalton, Martha Bailey and Brenda Quirino.
She is survived by: her husband Gregorio Hernandez; her daughters, Shelia Lynn Bowen of Rutherfordton and Tena Michelle Velazquez of Marion; and her grandchildren, Estrella Rivera-Trejo and Clayton Rivera-Trejo. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
