We announce the death of Vaughan Hyder of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 79. Vaughan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy V. Hyder Sr. and Inez C. Hyder. He is survived by: his daughters, Kamay H. Gaboda (John), Heather Hyder and Hannah Webb Godfrey (Zack); his cousin Mae McMahan; his grandchildren, James Clifford Toney (Jennifer), John Gaboda Jr., Kierstyn Hammett, Brandy Alexis Toney (Leslie), David Gaboda and Jax Gaboda; and his great grandchildren, Inez Toney and Asher Snow.
