He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewen Dent and Hettie Brown. He is survived by: his wife Velma Watson; his sons, Rodney Watson of Thomasville, Kenneth Ray Watson of Lumberton and Steve Watson; and his half-brothers, David Dent of Rowland and Noah Brown of St. Pauls. He is also survived by several half-sisters; nine grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McNeill Legacy Funeral Home (319 W Broad St, St Pauls, NC 28384). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at the Great Marsh Baptist Church Cemetery (270 E Great Marsh Church Rd, St Pauls, NC 28384).
