He was predeceased by : his parents, James Boyce McDonald and Mary Maxine Stephens McDonald; his brothers, Paul S. McDonald, James B. McDonald, William McDonald, Hal Wayne McDonald and Glenn McDonald; and his brother-in-law Murray Russ.
He is survived by : his wife Viola Russ McDonald; his son Ronald McDonald Jr. (Jennifer Inman McDonald); his granddaughters, Kaylee McDonald and Laney McDonald; his daughter Nicole McDonald Holloway (Christopher Holloway); his granddaughter Hailey Holloway; and his sisters-in-law, Diana McDonald, Carolyn McDonald of St. Pauls, NC, Sue Lanier of Lumberton, NC, JoAnn Smith of Lumberton, NC and Edith Warwick (Junior Warwick) of Lumberton, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
