Bess Johnson Starling Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bess Johnson Starling of Salemburg, North Carolina, who passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Tyndall and William Tyndall; and her siblings, Demery Tyndall (Mallie), Thad Tyndall (Sylvia), Robert Tyndall (Sara), Thomas Tyndall (Shirley), David Tyndall (Doris) and Christine Holland (Clayton).

She is survived by: her husband Charles Starling of Salemburg; her children, Donna Fleming (Don) of Salemburg, Vickie Spell (Don) of Salemburg and Dan Worley (Vicki) of Salemburg; her siblings, Dewey Tyndall of Erwin, Betty Turnage of Salemburg and Gerri Mclamb of Salemburg; her grandsons, Jonathan Crumpler of Salemburg, Keith Rowell (Lauren) of Virginia, Stephen Rowell (Stephanie) of Vermont and David Rowell (Brittany) of Turkey; and her great grandchildren, Matthew Vallini of Salemburg, Zach Worley of Clinton and Jenna Wells (Easton) of Rose Hill. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bess to the Freedom Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg.
