It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Edward Ruffin in Salisbury, North Carolina, who passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivory Ruffin and Blanche Ruffin; and his siblings, Earl Ruffin, Cleonza Jones, Ronnie Ruffin, Pauline Ghee and Viola James.
He is survived by: his wife Essie Graham Ruffin; his daughters, Monique Ruffin Hubbard (Patrick) of Orangeburg, SC and Felicia Ruffin Butler (Jamar) of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Jontez Land, Dykira Ruffin, D'Asia Ruffin of Patrick, Hubbard Jr. and Kenneth "Ju-Ju" Drye III; his great grandchild Mia Gonzalez Land; and his sisters, Inez Sutton (late William Sutton) of Jamesville, NC and Janice Ford (Glenn) of Jamesville, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (600 S Long St, Salisbury, NC 28144). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
