Catherine leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Catherine’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Catherine will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard C. Gravitt and Abbie T. Gravitt. She is survived by: her husband Michael D. Smith; her children, Michael Jason Smith, James D. Hutchinson and Sandra R. Wood (John H. Wood); and her grandchildren, John Michael Wood and Olivia Hutchinson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church (3430 Old US Hwy 70, Cleveland, NC 27013).
