He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Bud" Miller and Ruth Miller; and his brother David Miller. He is survived by: his wife Sofia Miller; his children, Heather Noradoukian and Joshua Miller; his siblings, Steve Miller and Nancy Bomer; and his grandchildren, Grace Noradoukian and Jacob Noradoukian. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Yosemite National Park or the Great Smokies National Park.
