David Keith Williams Obituary
David Keith Williams, 58, of Salisbury and formerly of Greensboro, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, July 15, 2022 at George Brothers Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams' love of the ocean contributed to him joining the Navy and was a veteran serving 18 years as a US Navy Corpsman. David was an avid Braves fan and baseball enthusiast. He will be remembered by his sense of humor and his "BALLS AND STRIKES" attitude. David was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald "Don" Kelly Williams.
David is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Kay) McKenzie-Williams of Hampton SC; sons, Justin, Ryan, Christopher and Grayson Williams, Thomas Shumpert, and Isaiah Bauguess; daughter, Ashley Teel; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Alaina, Scarlett, Payton, Ivyrose, Kaine, Brayden, Owen, Lydia; parents, David Kelly Williams and Rhonda Benoy Williams.
David was a truly great man. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories. I remember growing up with his boys and spending time over at their house. David would stay up late telling us ghost stories or stories from his days in the Navy and Army where he spent 20 years in the military. Sometimes he would play a song on the guitar and sing a few words from I walk the line by Johnny cash or another one I remember him singing was the angels beckon me from heavens open door and I cant feel at home in this world anymore. One night at the church he told us a story about a ghost ship out on the water at night while the navy ship he was on was patrolling the sea. He was a true lover of life and he always had a joke whenever he saw me. I will never forget those memories. He will be sorely missed but I know hes enjoying himself and catching up with his brother up in heaven. Rest easy David we will miss you down here. D Dixie TURNER July 15, 2022 12:48 PM .David was a 1700 s Gentleman, born in the 1900s, lived untill the 2000, and the the nicest man I, his mother-in-law, ever had the the good fortune to know. He never spoke a bad word about me that I know of, and always maded me feel loved. If 1/10 of young men behaved like he did today this would better place. there are no words to express his kindness and love. Jesus really has a specil jewel with HIM now.
