She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Johnson Sr. and Dorothy Nininger Johnson; her husband Hoyt Barton; and her brothers, Joseph "Sonny" Johnson Jr. and Roger Lee Johnson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Hoyt, Lori Wray (Patrick) and Lisa Wilson (Frederick); her grandchildren, Steven Wray (Blair), Kari Vanwitzenberg (Shane) and Kristen Wilson; her great grandchildren, Christian, Baily, Zoe, Delainey, Greyson, Abby and Charlie; and her siblings, Dorothy Robinette of Marion, NC, Nolan Johnson, Mac Johnson and Lacey Johnson of Roanoke, VA..
