He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorr Donald and Bertha Lea Barnette (Thaxton); his brothers, Orion Huston Barnette and James Sidney "Bo" (Mary Ann); his brother-in-law Carl Monroe Rosemond; his son Joseph Douglas Barnette; and his grandson Beau Barrett Spencer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Phyllis "Jeane" Rosemond of Saint Albans, WV, Paul Edward Barnette (Marsha) of Hurricane, WV and Charles Jennings Barnette (Becky) of Saint Albans, WV; his daughter Jaime Spencer (Shawn); his grandson Cashton Spencer; his significant other Debbie Harris; and his family, Sheri Harris, MacKenzie Harris (Christian) and Norah Hufton.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
