He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Van Trexler, Jr. and Hazel Boggs Trexler. He is survived by: his wife Judy Miller Trexler; his sons, Scott Van Trexler (Misty) and David Brian Trexler (Ashlinn); his grandchildren, Baleigh, Gage, Lila Dale, Jaxon and Anaston; and his brother James William Trexler (Jeaninne). He is also survived by his sons' and grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church (9275 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, 9275 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. Keep Douglas's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
