She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Burbank and Edythe Gordon Seltzer; her daughter Katherine; and her brothers, Joe Sylvester Burbank, Byron Burbank and Brian Burbank.

She is survived by: her husband Grant Harrison, Jr.; her children, Winifred (Clarence), Stephen, David (Francine), Joanne (Marc) and Teresa; and her siblings, Janice Nobliski (Michael), Nevin Brown, Camille Malone, Monique Perkins, Gordon Burbank, Jonathan Young (Susan) and Roderick Burbank (Auretha). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews and great friends.

She studied at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and culminated her education by graduating from the Graduate Theological Foundation receiving a Doctorate Degree in Sacred Music.
