He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert "Bob" Lewis and Elizabeth "Lib" Lewis. He is survived by : his close friend Nancy Blackwell; and his sisters, Judy, Janet and JoAnne.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
