She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Holder and Gladys William Holder; her husband Thomas Edwin Smith, Sr.; her daughter Peggy Houston; her siblings, Walter Holder Jr., Billy Holder, Richard Holder, Annie Holder Smith and Lois Holder; and her grandson Shane Deaton.
She is survived by: her children, Frankie Eugene Houston (Debbie) of Salisbury, NC, Mary Ann Houston of Salisbury, NC and Wanda Jean McDaniel of Trinity, NC. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
