He is survived by: his children, JoAnne Pardue of Lexington, Jeanette Maines of Sparta, James Dixon of Galax, Virginia., Theresa Green of Galax, Virginia., Josephine Wooten of Galax, Virginia., Jackie Bernette Blankenship of Galax, Virginia. and Wanda Newman of Galax, Virginia.; his siblings, Beula Pruitt of Florida, Geneva Andrews of Mississippi, Nancy Walker of Florida, Claude Dixon of Laurel Springs, Arnold Dixon of North Wilkesboro, Charlie Dixon of North Wilkesboro, Junior Dixon of Florida and Mae Chapman of Florida; and his great grandchild Santana Marie "Sissy" Miller. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
