It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roddy Ballard of Salisbury, North Carolina, who passed away on March 27, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ballard and Thelma Hudgins Ballard; his brother Sammy Ballard, Jr.; and his great grandchild Owen Lane Gonzalez. He is survived by: his wife Debra Ballard; his children, Candace Oakley (Linn) of Salisbury, Brad Ballard of Salisbury and Derek Ballard (April) of Gold Hill; his siblings, Kirk Ballard (Jackie) of Walhalla, SC and Paula Valejos (Robby) of York, SC; and his sister-in-law Kathy Ballard of Clover, SC. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hope Church and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
