He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth May Sifford. He is survived by: his sons, Travis Sifford (Jennifer) and Quentin Sifford; his nieces, Caprecia Sifford (Tyren) and Kristina Stout; his brothers, Dwight Sifford and Chester Polk; his uncle Willie B. Sifford (Mary Frances); and his grandchildren, Aaliyah Sifford, Hendrix Sifford, Landon Sifford, Karagan Sifford, Emmalyn Sifford and Tatum Sifford.

In 1976, he received the Varsity "L" athletic letter from Livingstone College in recognition of his contributions to the football program.
