He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lee "Bob" Earnhardt and Vada Ludwig Earnhardt; and his sister Mary Lee Moose. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Overton Earnhardt; his children, Michael Wayne Earnhardt of Salisbury and Michelle Leigh Earnhardt of Salisbury; his grandsons, James and Scott; his siblings, Virginia Lowder (Jerry) of Salisbury, Leroy Earnhardt and Joe Earnhardt (Debbie) of Jacksonville; his nephew Craig Earnhardt (Sherry) of Salisbury; and his cousins, George Wiley Kluttz (Jean) of Rockwell and Peggy Bost of Salisbury.
