It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Eugene Gilbert of Salisbury, North Carolina, born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. As William Eugene departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of our hearts. Though William Eugene may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by : his father William "Junior" Gilbert. He is survived by : his mother Glenda Queen Gilbert; his wife Debbie Gilbert; his siblings, Larry Gilbert (Gail) of Rockwell, NC and Melissa Swink (Donnie) of Rockwell, NC; and his pet Sassy. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews; four great-nephews; one great-niece.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Liberty Baptist Church (171 Johnson Dairy Rd, Mooresville, NC 28115). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
