He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mauldin Emerson; his daughter Amitty; his grandchildren, Emerson Harris and Zen Lewis; his godson Brian Brooks; his siblings, Peggy Hagans (late Robert F. Hagans II), Laura Emerson, Janice Emerson, Howard Emerson (Jackie) and Hermon Emerson (Kay); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Cheek (Winfred), Cynthia Brooks (Larry), Sandra Mauldin, Felicia Mauldin, Hattie Marsh, Tim Mauldin (Sherry) and Howard Miller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
