He was predeceased by: his parents, Sandy A. Johnson and Lula Mae McNeill Johnson; his daughter Lou Ann Johnson Davis; his wife Mary Jane Stone Johnson; his granddaughter Georgia Elizabeth Danzey; his stepson Richard Byrd; and his pet Cooper.
He is survived by: his son Randy Johnson (Denise); his stepdaughter Pam Byrd Metts; his stepdaughter-in-law Nicki Suitt Byrd; his siblings, Gary Johnson and Judy Gunter; his grandchildren, Dalton Coffer (Josie), Alexus Byrd and Summer Byrd; and his great grandchildren, Rylee, Aurie and Lily. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery (4141 S Plank Rd, Sanford, NC 27332).
