It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Howard Cox of Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul Cox and Kathleen Cummings Cox; and his stepmother Sara Cox. He is survived by: his wife Susan Furr Cox; his children, John Thomas Cox (Carrie), Jason Howard Cox (Mandy) and Ashley Cox Harrington (Brian); his grandchildren, Maggie Cox DiTullio (Ethan), Madison Cox Swart (Eric), Colleton Goehagan, Abbey Cox, Alexandria Cox, Jake Cox and Shepard Harrington; his great grandchildren, Liam, Maverick and Charlotte Swart; and his sisters, Beverly Cranford (Mike) and Paula Rogers.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a local animal charity of one's choice, or Life Springs Church 3215 Keller-Andrews Rd, Sanford, NC 27330, or to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
